You basically eat a shake for breakfast and lunch (or just one meal a day.. we are doing 2 a day) and eat a normal dinner. Football and Etiquette combine in the South

If you love football and everything about southern etiquette, then I have THE book for you. I ordered this book when it first came out and couldn't put it down. Y'all please, please do yourselves a favor and rush on over and order Gridiron Belles: A Guide to Saturdays in Dixie. Christie Leigh Mueller is a genius and I wish I would have thought to write a book like this first. ;) Hopefully one day I will get to meet her at a tailgate.

This book will teach you everything you ever needed to know about the game of football, tailgaiting in the SEC, fashion for gameday, and SO much more.

A favorite part of the book for me was when gentleman were asked "What will you teach your daughters about football?" and Michael Hart from Florida said.. "Date an offensive lineman. They'll keep you centered, protect you, and hold you from time to time." I LOVED THAT! I mean, I may be biased at this response, but it was PERFECTION! ;) and Coach couldn't agree more.

Accent Vlog

F-L-O-R-I-D-A

We are the boys from old Florida, F - L - O - R - I - D - A, where the girls are the fairest, the boys are the squarest..

Florida won their first game of the season last night and I couldn't be happier. We didn't play our best, but we certainly look better than we did last year so far. Except for the three interceptions, but hopefully that was just first game jitters and we get past all this nonsense before we play our first SEC opponent. Our new coaching staff looks pretty promising, I will certainly miss Urban and the rest of them, but here's to new beginnings.. and hopefully more SEC titles and National Championships!!! GO GATORS!!!

Redefining Southern Women

I absolutely love, love, love the beginning of the month when you walk out to check your mail and there sits the new Southern Living magazine and Garden & Gun magazine. This month, G&G had a whole section about southern women. Y'all must pick up a copy of this magazine or head on over to the website and read the article here.

Also, while you are browsing the web and since it is only 4 days until college football kickoff, head over to this link and read about the best college towns. Of course, Gainesville is on the list (and other great SEC towns) so I say this is a must read! GO GATORS!

Another great read for y'all out there is, this article about the Junior League. A lot of times people think we just hang around and drink wine and socialize, but really we do a LOT of volunteering and helping out in our community.. "Yes, we did do more than just play bridge back then.." Although, we do enjoy those things as well ;)

Erin Condren Monthly Notebook

I have been wanting one of the Erin Condren Monthly Notebooks for a while. They are more personalized and have a lot more room to keep my busy schedule all in one location. I need somewhere that I can keep my nursing schedule, cheerleading coaching schedule, coach's football schedule, the gators football schedule, junior league schedule, volunteering assignments, church stuff, and that doesn't include events for the kids and friends, I need this for everything..

My Best Friend's Wedding

On July 30th, my best friend and (former now) roommate married the love of her life. It was a gorgeous ceremony and everything went off without a hitch. We live in a small town, and let me tell y'all, this wedding was the talk of the season. Everyone wanted to be invited and couldn't wait to see how it would turn out. Luckily, not only was I blessed with an invitation, but was asked to be a part of their big day by standing at my friend's side on the biggest day of her life. We had a lot of different festivities documented for her big day and I am going to show y'all a few pictures of an amazing journey.

I wanted to show my friend how much she meant to me in the past years and to thank her for always being there for me when I needed her. Therefore, I did what all southern women do and hosted and planned the first bridal shower of the season for her. We had a traditional southern bridal shower, with pink, white and lace. All the southern brunch food you could think of and presents galore. Just to let y'all know, she made it through every one of her showers without breaking a ribbon (She claims she doesn't want any children.. at least for a long time, ha!) One of our wedding myths is that however many ribbons you break when opening your gifts is how many children you have. Here are some pictures of the beautiful (if I do say so myself) shower.

After this shower, L had another family shower and we also had a lingerie shower for her. I don't have any pictures from these on my computer. However, if I come across some soon.. I'll be sure to post them! :)

For the bachelorette party, we made a weekend trip up to Savannah, Georgia. We went and had amazing food, did some antique shopping, sang karaoke, a ghost tour, and just had a blast. Definitely a weekend we will never forget.

We met a group of guys that were on a bachelor party and had some fun at the bars with them!

The day before the wedding we had a day of fun. We had the bridal luncheon at the bride and groom's new home and then had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

The day of the wedding was amazing! We started at 8 am and met at the salon to get our hair and makeup done. We had a full schedule the whole day and I'll tell you what, the day of a wedding sure does fly by. The whole day and night is just one blur in my head, I can't imagine how it is for the bride and groom.

At the reception, they had a unique photo booth set up. It was a red carpet set up instead of the usual type.

After the wedding, we had a little get together at a friends' house and had a good ole time until late in the evening.

Such a perfect night, may God bless their marriage and they live happily ever after.

A Southern Belle's Ten Golden Rules

1. Never serve pink lemonade at your Junior League committee meetings. It has Communist overtones.
2. Always wear white when you walk down the aisle (even if it's for the third time).
3. Never wear white shoes before Easter or after Labor Day. The only exception, of course, is if you're a bride. Bridesmaids, however, must never wear white shoes. Bridesmaids' shoes should match the punch.
4. It doesn't matter if you marry a man who doesn't know the difference between a shrimp fork and a pickle fork; you can always teach him. Just make sure he can afford to buy you both.
5. Never date your sorority sister's ex-husband until at least three years after the divorce. You might need her to write your daughter a Kappa Kappa Gamma recommendation one day. Just remember it's a lot easier to find a new man than it is to get your daughter into Kappa.
6. Never marry a man whose mother and grandmother owned silver plate instead of real silver. He's not quality and he'll try to cheat you on the divorce settlement.
7. It's never too soon to write a thank-you note. Some belles take the notes and a pen with them to a party. In the middle of the evening they go into the ladies' room and write a thank-you describing how much they enjoyed the dinner (naming specific items). They then put the note in the mailbox as they leave. The hostess receives it first thing in the morning. Sure this is compulsive, but you're going to have to be compulsive if you want to be president of Junior League.
8. Never show your bosom before evening and never wear an ankle bracelet before anything. Girls who wear ankle bracelets usually end up twirling batons. There has never been a baton twirler who became Miss America and there's certainly never been a baton twirler in Junior League.
9. Never chew gum in public and never smoke on the street.

10. Buy low, sell high.
